Kate Zeilon

Raised in a small town in Wisconsin, Kate grew up in a large extended family full of educators and farmers. She received her BA from Iowa State University and her Masters in Education from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Kate has worked her entire career serving Kansas City students and their families as a teacher and school leader. She is a proud Teach for America alumna, Green Fellow alumna, and Fund for Teachers Fellow. Kate most recently served as the Managing Director of Impact for City Year Kansas City and as a member of the Nelson Atkins Teacher Advisory Board.
Kate is an avid photographer and garage-sale enthusiast, she’s never met an animal she didn’t like, and she enjoys spending time outdoors. Kate lives on a small acreage outside of KC with her husband and daughter.
